Jazzy Blues reflection of a father with T Bone Walker type solo.

Over the past few years I've been watching my son and his band develop their songs. Our house has been the base for many a rehearsal, and a few videos. I'm proud of them all.

This song is a tribute to my son, and to his band, and all their hard work. Our house is not the same unless the paintings on the walls are vibrating from the noise (music) coming from the basement. Nikki and I are your biggest fans. Well done George, and also well done Jacob, Sam and Damon.

It wasn’t until I started to take guitar lessons at the age of 30 that my musical future started to take shape. I’d been self taught, or wondering in the wilderness I prefer to say, on guitar and drums for almost 20 years. I had a great time with all the bands I was in, but I wasn’t really getting anywhere. I’d picked up a lot of bad playing habits and I couldn’t read music, which was a major problem. But as soon as I started taking lessons it opened up my world.

My first guitar was a classical bought from Joe Gaird (I think) in Newtown Wellington. He had vey long fingernails. I couldn't pick it up straight away because of my left handedness. I was pretty happy when the strings were changed around. My second guitar was a Maya dreadnought. Same thing had to happen with the strings. I bought it from the same shop with my pocket money.

Our family was brought up with a drum kit always around. My first professional gigs was as a drummer: dance band in the Horowhenua. While at Victoria University I drummed in a very egocentric Toys from the Attic and then had a great time with The Jonahs.

While down in Queenstown I got involved with the Irish scene, and met another Wellingtonian named Carl McRae. Together we performed an acoustic guitar based band called Dizrhythmia.

We recorded in Dunedin, and had our work completed by Chris Ward.

All of a sudden nothing happenend. Until I decided to record for myself.

I find it difficult to think of my efforts represented as a circular piece of plastic. I hope you enjoy my music. Thanks Glenice Hoskins for your vocals on Well You Know 2004.

It could also have an awakening of my heritage which you only start to feel when your beginning to mature in years: an English Kiwi tinge. Classic English bands mixed with bands heard in Wellington in the late '80s early 90s, before Bodega, when the Clarendon was king.

This self made 'Shed Collection' is a number of songs created on a cakewalk pro audio in a corrugated iron shed over the last number of years.

I'm proud of my work, I'm pleased. But I know they could sound better.

This is the deal. The songs available now are from the Shed Collection. If after you have had a listen, you decide to buy a single, when I have recorded that song professionally I will send you the new copy for free.

You will be able to create your own anthology of my music.!!

I will be enormously grateful. I will not forget. Visit my website to hand pick my first album. Cheers.
